Telehealth (Telemedicine) Policy

Applies to all patients receiving telemedicine services through Invigor8 Medical Care in the States of Hawaii and Oregon.

1. What Is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine (also called "telehealth") allows you to receive medical care using secure audio or video calls — without needing to visit an office in person. At Invigor8 Medical Care, all consultations, follow-up appointments, and treatment plan discussions are conducted through our secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

2. Geographic Scope

Invigor8's telehealth services are available exclusively to patients who are physically located in Hawaii or Oregon at the time of service. During onboarding, all patients must attest to their location. Providing false location information may result in termination of services and forfeiture of refund eligibility.

3. Provider Qualifications

All telemedicine services through Invigor8 are provided by licensed healthcare professionals who are authorized to practice in Hawaii and Oregon. Our providers meet the same standard of care as an in-person appointment and are bound by the ethical and professional obligations of their respective licensing boards.

4. Voluntary Use of Telemedicine

Telemedicine is completely optional. You may decline or withdraw your consent to use telemedicine at any time without affecting your ability to seek care through other means. If you withdraw consent during an active treatment plan, please contact us at admin@invigor8medical.com to discuss your options.

5. Informed Consent

Before your first telemedicine visit, Invigor8 will:

  • Explain what telemedicine is and how it works
  • Discuss the risks and limitations (e.g., technology failures, inability to perform physical examinations)
  • Provide an opportunity for you to ask questions
  • Obtain your informed consent — either written or verbal — and document it in your medical record

You will receive this information through our online intake forms and again during your appointment with a licensed provider. By completing the Invigor8 intake form, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Telehealth Policy and consent to receive telemedicine services.

6. Privacy and Security

  • Your personal health information is Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA and applicable state laws in Hawaii and Oregon.
  • Invigor8 uses a secure, encrypted platform to protect the privacy and confidentiality of all telemedicine sessions.
  • No session will be recorded without your explicit, written consent.
  • All providers, staff, and technology partners handling your PHI are bound by confidentiality obligations consistent with applicable law.

7. Risks and Limitations of Telemedicine

While telemedicine is safe and effective for most consultations, you should be aware of the following limitations:

  • Technical issues (internet connectivity, audio/video failures) may interrupt or delay your appointment.
  • Physical examinations cannot be performed through telemedicine; your provider will rely on the information you provide.
  • Some medical conditions may require an in-person evaluation that telemedicine cannot adequately replace.
  • Delays in care could occur if transmitted information is incomplete, inaccurate, or misunderstood.
  • In rare cases, a provider may determine your condition cannot be safely treated via telemedicine and refer you to an in-person provider.

8. Prescriptions and Follow-Up Care

If clinically appropriate, your Invigor8 provider may prescribe medications during your telemedicine visit. All prescriptions are fulfilled by licensed, accredited compounding pharmacies and shipped directly to your Hawaii or Oregon address. Some medications may require additional evaluation, lab work, or an in-person visit before they can be prescribed. Your provider will inform you if this applies to your situation.

9. Technology Requirements

To participate in a telemedicine appointment with Invigor8, you will need:

  • A smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone
  • A stable internet or cellular connection
  • Access to our HIPAA-secure patient portal (login details provided upon registration)
  • A private, quiet space for your appointment

10. Emergencies

Telemedicine is NOT for use during medical emergencies.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately or go to the nearest emergency room. Do not attempt to contact Invigor8 in place of emergency services. Invigor8's 24/7 support is for non-emergency questions and administrative matters only.

11. Patient Rights

As a patient using Invigor8's telemedicine services, you have the right to:

  • Be treated with the same respect and standard of care as in-person patients
  • Ask questions and receive clear, complete answers about your care
  • Make informed decisions about your treatment options and any medications prescribed
  • Receive a full refund if your provider determines you are not eligible for treatment
  • Withdraw consent for telemedicine at any time without penalty
  • Access your medical records as permitted by law
  • File a complaint with Invigor8 or with the appropriate state medical board if you believe your rights have been violated

12. Patient Responsibilities

To ensure the best possible care through telemedicine, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate, complete, and truthful information about your health history and current condition
  • Being present and available at your scheduled appointment time
  • Using medications and treatments only as directed by your provider
  • Notifying your provider of any adverse reactions or changes in your condition
  • Keeping your account credentials confidential and notifying us of any unauthorized access
